Things to Do in Omaha

 Within Walking Distance of the Hotel

Since the hotel is located in the heart of the Old Market, you have some options!  We recommend walking around to get a sense of the restaurants and stores.  There are also a variety of parks and other outdoor attractions that we would recommend, including: 

Bob Kerry Pedestrian Bridge

• Exploring the Gene Leahy Mall (be sure to go down the slides)
• Take a walk around the lake at Heartland of America Park, which features the world’s second highest fountain
• Check out the buffalo and pioneers at the Downtown Sculpture Park
• Head over to Iowa on the Bob Kerry Pedestrian Bridge
• The Durham Museum, which is an Art Deco train station that has been renovated into a museum
• CarriageTours through the Old Market

Take Advantage of the Hotel Shuttle

The Embassy Suites hotel shuttle provides free service to and from destinations within a certain distance of the hotel.  Consider these options:

The Joslyn Art Museum

• The Henry Doorly Zoo is a must-see!  Visit America’s largest indoor rainforest, the world’s largest indoor desert, a 70 foot long shark tunnel, and the world’s largest nocturnal exhibit (featuring bats and other scary things!)
• The Joslyn Art Museum has free admission on Saturdays from 10am – Noon. Just be sure to be back in time for the wedding shuttle!  The museum is in a gorgeous art deco building with an outdoor sculpture garden.
• The Omaha Children’s Museum has a special play area for kids 0-3 (Boaz, Franklin, Teagan, & Jack, are you reading this?)
